Has anyone here run for a political office now that they are out of Jws ?

i am thinking of running for alderman on my city council .

the mayor had a meeting with me yesterday and is anxious to replace the alderman in my ward .

she liked what i had to say at a council meeting a few weeks ago during public comments .

I was ask to run for City Councilman. How did this come about.

Well I moved to serve where the need was great to a community of

ten thousand. After two years the congregation grew, so we were able to have

a KH. It was quick build. The folks in that city had a town meeting and question me

and the other elder, how will this be done with such a small congregation.

A year or so after the KH was built I was approached by a city councilman and asked

if I would be interested in running for city councilman. At the same time I was invited

to meet with the local ministers( all denominations ) once a week for breakfast.

Of course I turned down both, they were the devil.

Today, I would welcome the opportunity. I live in a much larger city now and

no chance of me becoming a city councilman but I try to get involved.

I would say ,go for it, make a difference.

Thanks sparky 1. I wish more people would read the Bible and think. "Paul "quote mining",

to prove his own bias. Exactly what the WT does today", agree. When your eyes are open it's

amazing how fast you can see through the BS, at times it become knee deep.

Like some people we know, "don't tell the truth on occasion as it suits them".

This Cretan appear to be a JW, he speaks like one and Paul takes the bait

and run with it. All Cretans are liars, all Apostates are liars.LOL

OK, If this was said by a cretan and cretans always lie, then he

then cretans do not always lie and there is a lie in the scripture. If, on

the other hand, this Cretan was telling the truth about Cretans, then

Cretans do not always lie, at least not the one who said this.

In either event, there is falsehood by the apostle Paul.

What happened to shunning ?

okay, so...i haven't been to the kingdumb hall since last spring but i like to believe i'm up to date with the jw ways.

as most of you have heard many times already, my mother was disfellowshipped (actually they said he disassociated), for accepting blood transfusions in a life or death situation.

right after coming from the hospital the elder said she da'd.

Still alive and well in my area...counting 28 years and going strong.

My family is the epitome of a good JW. Jehovah himself will need to come

down and tell them, stop it that is not loving.

the more i think about it, the more i feel an extreme dislike for the apostle paul.

he was on par with hitler in his treatment of the jews before he "saw the light".

he replaced jesus teachings of love and mercy with a more legalistic, pharisaical concept of devotion to god.. any evil person can come to believe in god and worship him if the scales were literally and miraculously removed from his eyes.
